Why Florida Schools Want the Right to Paddle... →
I was not aware corporal punishment was still allowed in my wonderful home state. I am against spanking or hitting children in any way because I believe they will, instead of learning discipline and respect, become fearful of their elders and in turn learn that violence is a way of making people do what they want. Anyway, I think it is important to be aware of the situation and the mindset these...

I’ve been playing guitar a lot this week since I keep it here at home and my fingertips have been getting nice and callused again. Kind of satisfying. :D

Important notice to my dear followers
celestialcheese:
I am closing celestialcheese because:
Tumblr has been just so buggy!
I miss being able to reply to everyone’s wonderful posts
I miss people seeing when I like their wonderful posts
I miss being able to send asks/fanmail and having people see them and be able to respond to them
In short, my Tumblr is essentially useless since I cannot communicate with any of you at the...

I'm in Alabama, ya'll!
Excited to see some good old-fashioned Confederate pride, because there is never enough of that.
In Pensacola
The weather has been awful.
We’ve been to several fun restaurants.
I have no wi-fi.

A congressional committee to discuss female contraception and female health care bans a female witness? It’s not a reproductive rights issue? It’s a “freedom of religion” issue?
Are you goddamn kidding me?
I’m moving to Canada. Better yet, I’m moving to Antarctica.
(PS: Since when are non-conservative women not important figures in “freedom of...

but it was still goddamn scary. Literally jump moments at least every minute.
Rocking chair noise was not as good as the creepy noise from the play, but the rocking motion was so much more creepy looking.
PS Daniel Radcliffe is so fine omfg

thebestgatsby replied to your post: Some fun facts about Cupid on Valentine’s Day:
I’m so happy that you love this stuff as much as I do.
My mythology exam today was one of the hardest tests I’ve ever taken in my life (the questions were literally like, “In Homeric Hymn to Hermes, line 78, what does Hermes say? Summarize in 6-8 sentences.” No multiple choice, no nothing....

Some fun facts about Cupid on Valentine's Day:
Everyone thinks of Cupid as a cute little baby with a bow and arrow and a fancy-ass diaper. Eros, the Greek version of Cupid, was actually a pretty hot guy, but nobody really loved him.
Eros used to pay people to sleep with him by giving them special powers.
Usually said girls would take his gifts and then change their mind about sleeping with him, and later the gifts would be cleverly...

Overheard at Strozier Library:
“It’s kind of weird for a girl to get down on one knee and propose. What is she going to do, get down there and go, ‘Give me a ring!’?”

Finished my paper with 3.5 hours to spare!
I actually finished writing it at 7pm but the formatting I had to do was SO DUMB and time-consuming. Like put in pictures with captions, set a certain zoom level on the document, add in headers with a table of contents, blah. I guess it’s because it’s a computer class, but whatever. Unimportant. I’d rather be judged on the quality of my writing.
BUT did you guys know you can put...

Totally just had a crazy claustrophobic panic...
Like out of nowhere I thought my clothes were choking me and I was clawing at my necklace like a lunatic. It was kind of weird. I was laughing at how strange it was and hyperventilating at the same time.
Once I put some cozy pajamas on I was fine. But how odd.

Today I sent in my cheek swabs to join Be The Match’s registry! I’m so excited to be able to donate blood-forming cells and bone marrow if I turn up to be the match for someone in need, like my friend, Blake Cook. I honestly feel so great. Thanks, Stephenie, for the information! :)
I highly recommend anyone willing to donate to join. If anyone has any questions about the process, by...

American Idol Contestant Symone Black Falls From... →
FOX can’t technically be faulted over this since they’re allowed to use any footage of the contestants at any time, but it really is in poor taste to make a 16-year-old’s serious health concern a way to get ratings and make people want to watch the next show. This would be fine to show on the program, but not as a gimmick, geez. I’m assuming she’s okay or else they...

Fed up with my ghost noting issues,
I finally emailed Tumblr. I uninstalled missing e like a week ago so they would actually talk to me.
Literally a minute after my email is on its way, I get this:
Is Tumblr just assuming now that everyone uses missing e and is using it as an excuse to not provide support for their extremely flawed website? Are they too busy coming up with useless new features to address legitimate concerns?

So I've decided to finally start saving for my...
I’ve been basically obsessed with ancient cultures and especially Pompeii since I was a small child. The first time I had heard of Pompeii was when I was in fifth grade, and my teacher (who was like my only friend, also) had a book with transparencies of artwork from what it used to look like and then when you flipped over it would show it as it is now. I was fascinated with the idea that a...
